Angler Kayak
kayak fishing question….?
in your opinion with is the best kayak for me. i am 5′9 and 155 pounds. I have never kayaked before, but i plan on using it in lakes for the first couple months in norther california where i live, but in about 5 months i am moving down to san diego and i plan on ocean fishing with it down there. Any experienced kayakers have suggestions on which boat would be good for me?

I fish off shore for big game in Hawaii on a Ocean Kayak Prowler 13. The Prowler cuts through the wind and swells well as long as I use my rudder. I would go for the Trident 15 or even the newer Trident 13. I also fished in San Diego for 11 years before moving to Hawaii. The on shore winds there aren’t too strong and the kelp beds are close in so the 13 footer should do you fine.
