H2o Kayaking

should I get a Canoe or a Kayak?
I’m a photographer and semi-avid fisherman, and I’m looking for a small, quiet boat to take on the rivers, lakes, ponds, and small streams where I live. I need something that is stable and isn’t likely to tip (camera+h2o=me out $700), can comfortably hold me and my gear (I’m a big guy, about 6′6″ and 360lbs), and is light weight enough to haul out to some of the more obscure ponds and streams (1/2 mile to 2 miles from the road). Two person capacity would be a plus. Any suggestions?
PS. I’m a bit of a cheapskate, too, so if one is typically cheaper, that would be a factor too.
take a long look st thee hobie fisherman kayak, it is equipped with foot power system so your hands are free for fishing or taking photos (a big plus) as far as portage, there are carts available for moving over land. it has a 600# cap. so its plenty big.
