Hawaii Vacation – Part 3 – Big Island
The third of our four-part series of Hawaii vacation includes "Big Island" as the island of Hawaii is the most frequently mentioned.
Since the native (and longtime residents) as to say there are only two seasons on the Big Island of Hawaii: "summer" between May and October and "Winter", from October to April. The climate varies considerably, although – in the form of precipitation – from west to east. Hilo, East, or "wet" side of Big Island is the wettest city in the United States.
Big Island of Hawaii Kona side (west side dry) is the most popular destination. It offers accommodation and restoration activities in pursuit of pure FUN! Snorkelling, diving, kayaking and deep sea fishing are popular.
The island is also famous for its volcanoes. Kilauea is the most active volcano in the world. Sometimes you can watch lava flowing through the landscape of Parc National des Volcans. The days when the volcano is not erupting, you can explore its unique "lava cape", with its chimneys belching steam, its gigantic canyons craters and lava. Standing at just over 5,000 meters, Kilauea is the highest volcano on the Big Island, but it is certainly the most active.
For an aerial view of Big Island, be sure to check out the Blue Hawaiian Helicopters and tropical Hilo. dedicated drivers will take you further and give loads during flight nformation, including a literal over-the-top "view of the volcano Kilauea!
And for those who want to experience water travel more in Kona Boy Kayaks, passing 113 miles marker on Highway 11 and get the thrill of Big Island Hawaii – big time! There you can rent a kayak or take a tour ride. Paddle to the top of the waves, skirting cliffs and waterfalls, or snorkel and swim in a calm and protected cove – your choice. Maybe you'll see a few dolphins you paddle through the Captain Cook Monument.
Speaking of dolphins, Hilton Waikola Village on the Big Island, has a program called Dolphin Quest. There in the lagoon, children and adolescents and some adults can swim with Atlantic bottlenose more. This program is almost always full. Reservations must be made at least 60 days in advance.
You can go even further by to discover a world of marine creatures and their habitats by visiting the Atlantis Submarine, also in Kona. And there are also world class sports fishing off the Kona coast.
This area is known as the marlin capital of the world. big game fish, including giant blue marlin and other Pacific billfish, tuna and swordfish are abundant in waters off coast. Hundreds of charter fishing boats operate from the area of Kailua-Kona, where you can rent a boat with friends or participate in a joint charters daily.
The highlight Mauna Kea is isand, 13,796 feet above sea level. The two neighbors Maunu Loa and Kea Mauau and is among the clearest air in the world. Thus more than two dozens of the best telescopes in the world is there. Tours University of Hawaii is available every weekend.
There are many beaches of Grand Island. Pauoa Beach, the Fairmont Orchid at Mauna Lani Resort, is steeped in fresh water from natural sources that move beneath the surface of the sea. It is located on the Kohala Coast on the northwest side of the island.
One of the most beautiful beaches in Hawaii Hapuna Beach is a landscaped 62-acre beach park. Swimming and other water sports are popular in summer months for a tranquil lake. Winter surf can be rough. The beach is located on the Kohala Coast on the northwest side. The Hapuna Golf Course, a part of the Hapuna Beach Prince Hotel, extneds coast and 700 meters, offering both challenge and beauty.
Honaunau Beach, part of the story Pu'uhonua o Honaunao National Park, offers a full range of family activities. This name means a sanctuary place of refuge. "
A snorkeler joy, Kahaluu Beach Park is located on the west coast of the Big Island. Visitors can explore a colorful array of over 100 types of tropical fish and marine life including sea turtles. A large coral reef protects the lagoon and is home to these animals. A source of fresh water is fed up 10 million gallons per day in the lagoon.
Kaunaoa Beach also known as Mauna Kea, is surrounded by a Coconut Grove and protected by black lava points-two. This beach is located just opposite the Hotel Mauna Kea. Surfing robust Kaunaoa a bodysurfing and boogie denied pleasure.
Nearby Mauna Kea Golf Course is carved out of black lava of the volcano and is considered one of the best courses in America. The spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean and coastal cliffs seem to add to the difficulty of the course.
South Point on the Big Island is considered where the Polynesians came from the Marquesas Islands and Tahiti about 500 AD and found the island has attracted visitors for centuries back. Will you be one of them?
